It's a toughie between Alcest, Amesoeurs and Peste Noire. All three bands are connected by members. Neige of which leads two of them, one being his personal project and Famine of Peste Noire was a member of Alcest for their first demo. Peste Noire has released some of the greatest Black Metal demos to date and Famines lead work is nothing short of brilliant. But I may have to go with Alcest. Neige has taken this project from a Raw Black Metal band on their first demo, then with the release of the EP 'Le Secret' completely made something unique, producing an almost warm feeling sound while still being Black Metal. And with this upcoming debut full-length (AUGUST 6!!!) as taken the project into Shoegaze/Depressive Rock territory and from the two samples released, will certainly be the album of the year for me. Though it's possible to hear Neige and Co. release Amesoeurs debut full-length before the years up, and Peste Noire's second full-length "Folkfuck Folie" due out in July with four tracks from the "Lorraine Rehearsal LP" to be re-recorded for it. Okay..so maybe I can't choose...

Black Sabbath-because I have tried for over 20 years to find a band that can do the things they do, and I haven't found it yet. No matter who is singing, they jus town everything else on so many levels. Behind that, Iced Earth and Iron Maiden do a good job of keeping it metal and kicking ass.
