Nice; what did you get yr master's in and what's yr PhD for? I'm contemplating doing a master's-to-PhD program where I take a pretty fucking rigorous exit exam and if I pass it I'd be a candidate for my PhD, then plan on the dreaded dissertation and defense. If not, then worst case scenario, I walk out with a master's. Since I already have research, two internships, volunteer work, and a senior thesis under my belt, I'm not too afraid of the next two years. The exam sounds ridiculous, though... talking to all my professors, they say it some of the doctoral testing was arguably more grueling then having to resubmit dissertations umpteen times... One of my professor's is discouraging me from doing the master's-to-PhD thing; he thinks it's best to go to one school for undergrad, another one for your master's, another for doctoral work, and then another for post-doctoral research. He said his daughter found out the hard way when she did all her university-level work at ONE school. Hopefully I can keep my head on straight through all of this, lol!

Geo-Information Sciences (with two concentrations): Globalization, Cities, and Development & Land Use Planning on a Regional Scale. Doesn't get much more interdisciplinary than that, lol... I just love the social and quantitative aspects of geography pretty equally. I wish I could do more with geomorphology, climatology, and structural geology too, but hopefully I can incorporate most of those into my grad research!

When I leave high school, I plan on going to a Austin Community College, so I can hang out with my friends for two more years and so I won't have to pay as much to get into a decent school, because there is no way in hell I am going to UT, A&M, or Texas State, then I plan on majoring in Radio Broadcasting and Communications, and Minoring in Stage Acting. Potatoes make me teh smartz.

I went to a community college too. and got my associate's there.. went for free because of good grades and great finanical aid awards. I'm only in about $10,000 worth of debt from 4 semesters at a four-year... not bad, considering my friends who have gone for 8 semesters/4 years and have lived in the dorms are in at least $40,000 worth of debt. It's all about making the right decisions to mitigate the raping of your wallet.

Yeah, and hard to pay back since jobs in the field Anthropology requiring a Bachelor's degree are pretty much nonexistent. Definitely a good route to take if you're interested in going to law school or if you want to eventually be a college professor!
